The past few months' wholesale prices on most food items for farm, domestic animals, birds and numerous other pets have increased. This, of course, affects our retail prices.
The cost of farm products has dramatically increased due to shortages, overseas exports, corn for ethanol and fuel costs. Our economy is suffering from inflation. Our dollar is weak, our war is expensive (12 billion a month or more) and we still pay agribusinesses a subsidy not to grow products.
The Red Barn, however, will remain a leader in low prices. Our everyday prices are still the best. Our not so secret of success is based on volume buying (better prices), large inventory, no corporate overhead and low markup margins. Also the Red Barn coupon policy provides extra savings.
